Easter - Light Christ's Revival

Also the short and warm winter has flown by this year. And the present snow has not had time to drop out, and already winter has met with a spring for holiday of Candlemas Day, and then we spent it on the Wide Pancake week. And the Great post has passed, and we have come nearer to the most light and joyful holiday of Church – Christ’s Easter. And importance of this holiday it is a lot of to be spoken about greatness. But I shall result only significant words of Prelate Makarij, metropolitan Moscow. « Easter - a holiday world and the greatest... For Christ’s Revival has radically changed both the ground, and a hell, and the Sky... On the ground the Revived God has sent Spirit Sacred and has consecrated on the ground Christ’s Church - a pillar and the statement of True which will be on the ground till the end of time, and arch of a hell will not overcome it... In a hell the soul Sirs has left on His death, has broken a hell and has revived... On the sky the Revived Christ has ascended and has based there Church in which have come and souls of all righteous persons continue to enter... The Church has connected the Sky and the ground. We have one Church - terrestrial and Heavenly. All were made for us by God; there will be no traitors and murderers. We shall clear and shall consecrate the souls in sacraments of Sacred Church».

From these words becomes clear why Easter is considered the main holiday for all Christians, and what it means for each of us separately and what traditions of this celebration? Let's talk about it. In general in a narration about Revival of the Christ every image has the deepest sense. So a cross - a symbol of death and expiation, a stone - a symbol of burial, the wife – chrism-bearing - a symbol of sudden change from grief to unintentional inexpressible pleasure. In fact it happens so in a life, that, we appear in desperate position, and the hope suddenly will flash, and as if someone gives to us of forces to cope with a trouble. The gloom cast down. The person is not more extraction of spiteful death. God is the winner and the deliverer.

The sacred Church in the Easter Divine service also expresses this world pleasure about glory Revived Sirs. The religious procession established in memory of circulation of wives - chrism-bearing and pupils from Jerusalem to a coffin, is always accompanied by singing and stops at the western doors of a temple where for the first time it is distributed: «Christ is Risen!». Then all procession comes back in a temple for Easter Morning Prayer. Divine service by greetings, mutual kissing and donation of coloured eggs comes to an end. Under the legend custom to paint eggs it is connected to sacred Maria Magdalena's name which has presented emperor Tiberij a white egg with words: «Christ is Risen!». «I do not believe, - emperor has answered, is it is impossible precisely the same as there can not be a white egg in your hand red». And at the very same time the egg has changed the color...

What there is Easter for the simple person? It is the indication of a way by the clarified, spiritual life. It is aspiration to find good fortune to clear heart and thoughts to live on goods and on conscience. It is desire to apprehend all essence Great Secret of a sacred holiday. Every year date of Easter - always between March, 22 and on April, 25 (an item style), in accordance with a spring equinox and a March full moon is especially estimated. This year Catholic Easter begins on March, 23, Jewish on April,-19 and orthodox - on April, 27. Hardly will begin to smell in air in the spring, will ring out cheerful bird's singing, we, as well as far our ancestors, reverentially we wait Easter. Comes troublesome and cheerful it is time: it is necessary to miss, to not forget, observe nothing customs and adequately to meet Light Day. Many centuries Easter traditions were esteemed at the different peoples, many in a great honor and today. Everywhere carefully washed and cleaned houses, bought new clothes and gifts. With an enviable ingenuity decorated dwellings - icon-lamps, crimson roses yes embroidered cloths... The circle felt the approach of unknown, wonderful event.

For a holiday of Easter always there is proudly, brightly, populously in temples, and air precisely magic from incessantly burning candles and fragrant incense. At a candle for Easter a special role: before a holiday usually carried from church the consecrated candles to bypass with them all house - to goods (if a candle on road go out - wait for a trouble). In all that it is connected to church, breath of the Deity was felt. Therefore with such love people in accuracy aspired to execute the established ceremonies. Main from them - consecration peep. Eventually it does not vary, but everyone becomes dearer to sensitive and opens our heart. The sacrament occurs in the street near a temple, at set of believers. By all means take with itself in church of the child. Let he will help you to place on a table Easter cakes, Easter, coloured eggs, itself will light a candle inserted into an Easter cake. Ask him to save up hands flickering zest of candles, to cover it from a casual breeze. When the priest will sprinkle brought, thank him, having put in a special basket there are some money or an egg. It is amazing, as the ceremony not for long lasts, but, how many causes strong emotions. No, perhaps, is deeper and higher feeling, than the trembling from cool droplets of sacred water on the person, eyes, hands, on pink cheeks of the happy kid. And from the pacified, warm sights around... So it would be desirable to embrace and kiss all!

The desire it supports one more ancient Easter ceremony – Christ-kissing, appeared on Russia from Greece. Children with parents Christ-kissed three times, only to husbands with wives to kiss publicly was considered indecent. Moreover, Christ-kissing was necessary not only with alive, but also with dead: for this purpose by all means went from church on a cemetery.

And the house of each person was waited with a plentiful celebratory meal. Certainly, in the center of an Easter meal was a coloured egg is a both ritual gift, and food, and talisman. In what only legends the egg is not mentioned, with what symbolical values are not allocated. It is not accidental and red color of coloured eggs - color of blood. From here representation about an egg as about the world, stained with blood the Christ and that revived by a new life. As if from a dead shell Jesus has risen from a coffin. In common people everywhere there were signs and legends about miracle force consecrated eggs: received of hands of the priest, it never will deteriorate and will keep curative properties; placed in a tub with grains for crop will provide a good harvest; caressing it the cattle will be healthy and fruitful; buried in a tomb will calm soul of died person and so forth. Besides the egg could protect from a fire: the righteous person took it in the hands, three times bypassed around of a burning house, repeating «Christ is Risen!», And fire ceased. Easter also was glorified by affairs of charity: tsars visited prisons, hospitals and shelters, endowed on poor and destitute. People saw the duty in mercy and good undertakings.

Sacred Easter is undoubtedly greatest of church holidays. Not without reason on true of Revival unshakably there is a belief Christian. To us the big happiness has dropped out to touch ancient, secret sacrament, to comprehend which, maybe, business of the future. The Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!

About revival of the Christ narrates the Gospel. However, the fact of revolt from a coffin is not described, but evangelists testify that occurred before and after it. When Jesus Christ has died and has been taken off from a cross, Him have put in a coffin and have left with we cry. But Judaic masters were afraid, as though pupils have not taken away a body of the Teacher and have not told then as if He has revived on predicted, therefore ordered to fill up an input in a tomb with the big stone and to put vigilant to the guard. At night, for the third day after burial God Jesus Christ by strength of the Deity has come to life, i.e. has revived from dead. The body of Him, human, has changed. He has left a coffin, not pulling off a stone, not having broken a seal and invisible to guards. Since this moment soldiers, not knowing that, protected an empty coffin. Great earthquake has suddenly become; from heavens angel of God has left. He, having started, pulls off a stone from a door of coffin of God also sat on it. The soldiers on guard at a coffin, came in trembling and steel as dead, and then, having regained consciousness for fear, have run up. This day in the early morning on Sunday Maria Magdalena, Maria Iakovleva, John, Salomia and other women have gone to a coffin to bring the aromas intended for a body of Jesus. The Church calls these women by chrism-carrying. They yet did not know, that coffin of God is put the guard, and the input in a cave is sealed. Therefore they did not expect somebody there to meet, and spoke between itself: «Who pull off to us a stone from a door of a coffin?» The stone was very great. Maria Magdalena, having outstripped other women - chrism-carrying, the first has come to a coffin. Did not dawn yet, it was dark. Maria having seen, that a stone was pulled from a coffin, at once has run to Peter and John and speaks: «Sirs from a coffin have carried away and we do not know, where have put Him». Having heard such words, Peter and John have immediately run to a coffin. Maria Magdalena has followed them. At this time other women gone with Maria Magdalena came to a coffin. Coming, they have seen that the big stone, obstructing an input in a coffin, pulls off, the coffin is empty, and on a stone Angel of God sits. A kind of Him was as a lightning, and the clothes of Him were white as a snow. Having frightened by the Angel, women came in trembling. The angel has told: «be not afraid, for I know that you search: Jesus crucified. He is not present here. He has revived, as has told still, being with you. Approach, look a place where God laid. And then go more likely, and tell to pupils of Him, that He has revived from dead». They have come inside of a coffin (cave) and have not found a body Jesus Christ's Sirs. But, having looked, have seen again an angel in the white clothes, a place sitting on the right side where God has been put, and they were grasped with horror. The angel has told him: «Be not horrified. Do you Jesus search? For Nazarjanin crucified, He has revived. He is not present here. This is a place where He has been put. But go, tell to His pupils and Peter (which the renunciation has disappeared from number of pupils), that He will meet you in Galilee, there you will see Him, and how He has told to you». When women stood in perplexity, suddenly, again before them were two angels in shining clothes. Women in fear the persons to the ground have bent. Angels have told him: «What do you search alive between dead? He is not present here. He has revived. Recollect, how He spoke you when was in Galilee … spoke, that the Son Human should be devoted in hands of guilty people, and to be crucified, and in the third day to revive». Then women have recollected words Sirs. Coming out, they in trembling and fear have run from a coffin. And then with fear and great pleasure have gone to announce to pupils of Him. On the journey they have told nothing to anybody, because were afraid. Having come to pupils, women have told about everything that saw and heard. But words their empty have seemed to pupils, and they have not believed them. In the meantime Peter and John have come running to coffin of God. John ran more likely Peter and the first has come to a coffin, but has not come in a coffin (cave), and having bent, has seen laying veils. After him resorts Peter enters into a coffin and sees one laying veils, and payments (bandage) which was on Jesus Christ's head, laying not with veils, but curtailed on the other place separately from veils. Then for Peter John has come also, has seen all this and has believed in Christ’s revival. Peter marvelled in itself to event. After that Peter and John have come back to itself. When Peter and John have left, Maria Magdalena who has come running with them, has remained with a coffin. She stood and cried at an input in a cave. And when cried, has bent and has looked in a cave (in a coffin), and has seen two angels in the white attire, sitting, one at the head, and another at foots where the body of the Savior lay. Angels have told to her: «The wife! What you cry?» Maria Magdalena has answered them: «Sirs of mine have carried away, and I do not know, where have put Him». Having told it, she has looked back and has seen worth Jesus Christ, but from great grief, from tears and from the confidence, that dead do not revive, she has not learned Sirs. Jesus Christ speaks her: «Woman! What do you cry? Whom you search?» Maria Magdalena, thinking, that is the gardener of this garden, speaks Him: «Mister! If you have taken out Him, tell to me where has put Him, and I shall take Him». Then Jesus Christ speaks her: «Maria!» Voice well familiar to her has forced her to come round from grief, and she has seen, that before her there is God Jesus Christ. She has exclaimed: «Teacher!» - And with indescribable pleasure has rushed to foot of the Savior; and for pleasure she did not imagine all greatness of the moment. But Jesus Christ, specifying to her on sacred and great sacrament of the revival, speaks her: «Do not touch me, for I yet go up to my Father; and go to my brothers (i.e. to pupils) and tell him: I go up to my Father both to your Father and to my God and your God». Then Maria Magdalena has hastened to His pupils with a message that saw Sirs, and that He has told to her. It was the first phenomenon of the Christ after revival. On road Maria Magdalena has caught up Maria Iakovleva who was also coming back from coffin of God. When they went to announce to pupils, suddenly, Jesus Christ has met them and has told him: «Be pleased!». They came, have grasped foots of Him, and have bowed to Him. Then Jesus Christ speaks them: «Be not afraid, go, announce to my brothers that they went to Galilee, and there they will see me». So the revived Christ was in second time. Maria Magdalena with Maria Iakovleva, going to eleven pupils and all other, crying and sobbing, have announced great pleasure. But they, having heard from them, that Jesus Christ is alive also they saw Him, have not believed. After that Jesus Christ was separately to Peter and has assured him in the revival. (It is the third phenomenon). Only then many have ceased to doubt actually Christ’s revivals though there were believers yet between them. But before everything, as testifies from an antiquity Saint Church, Jesus Christ has pleased Pre-Saint Mother of God, proclaiming to Her through an angel about the revival. About it so sings over. Church: the Angel exclaimed fertile (Mother of God): pure Deva, be pleased! And again I speak: be pleased! Your Son has revived from a coffin for the third day after death and has revived dead: people, have fun! Be glorified, glorified Christian Church, because glory of God shine above you: triumph nowadays and have fun! You, the Pure Virgin, be pleased about revival by you given birth. So give, dear brothers and sisters, and we, unanimously are pleased to revival our Jesus Christ's Sirs!
